Fire in Ghakher Shopping Mall and shopping mall collapses

Last night a fire erupted in a Shopping Mall called "Ghakher Plaza" on Mall Road Sadar, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. The most of shops were garment shops. So initially everything kept burning and unfortunately now the whole Mall is collapsed and the rescue workers working inside are trapped inside. The trapped people are at least believed to be 18 in number.

Update [01:01am, Dec 21,2008]: Deadbodies of 8 people are found and 11 people are still believed to be trapped inside.

Unfortunate huge fire destroyed a military workshop in Chaklala Garrison

On Friday 19th, a fire was erupted on mid night in army's '501 Workshop' which is located close to Askari 12 Chaklala Rahimabad. Imiditely after that fire fighters from different places like rescue 1122 and few others rushed into the place of fire and started their rescue operations.

Despite all the rescue operations the fire was not coming in control for an initial one hour and spread over a large area. Soon after the huge clouds of smoke were being seen in the Rawalpindi City. Despite it was raining heavily the fire was being difficult to control, finally calling fire fighters from Islamabad worked in controlling fire.
